UPDATE FOR MAY! =0)

Well lets see...this has been a very busy month for our little Matty! Good news! No More Button! Yeah! Matthew went in for surgery at the beginning of the month and had the hole closed up! They also did a scope on his tummy and ran ALOT of tests... they think that Matthew has some serious food allergies, while they were doing the scope they found out that Matthew also has Pancreatitis....the Dr said all we can do is watch it closely. A few day's after Matty's surgery we lost Great-Grandma Margie...she was so close with Matthew! I still feel her, when I tuck the kids in at night I can feel her, I think she watches over them....she always said that she wanted to watch them grow up and that was her reason for fighting the cancer and I honestly feel that she will get to watch them grow....

On a happier note, Matty is doing GREAT he is almost walking! He can walk holding one of my hands now! He is talking up a storm, his new word are; "Tank Too" (Thank you), "Tadie" (Katiy), "Pup" (puppy), "Ditis" (drink) , "Tiss" (Kiss) "Ja Ja" (Jacqui), "Peas" (Please) and of course his favorite I DID IT! Followed with him clapping his hands then throwing them in the air! He is so much fun!! He has really been enjoying playing outside lately, he has a new slide and thinks the grass is pretty neat too! Oh and lets not forget that Miss Jacqui is home, he loves her! I think he prefers her to me actually ;-)
When we are in the front yard and I am holding his hands to help him walk he walks right next door saying "Ja Ja!" , she loves it! It's so wonderful having so many people that truly love our little Matty! You can tell when people truly love your kids and the Moses family definatly love our little ones! I am so glad they live right next door! We honestly have wonderful neighbors, Miss Emma is also one that loves the kids, she lives just a few houses away and she is really sweet with Matty, he likes to give her kisses! Our little Matty is so blessed with people that love him, I am so excited to go to Utah next month...I just know that my family is going to fall in love with him! Everyone that meets Matthew can't help but fall for him, he is just so sweet and charming!

Matthew is flourishing just like he always has, he just gets sweeter and cuter every day!

Matthew's Birthday!

Our little Matty turned 2! We had a blast at the party, I told everyone to dress up silly! Everyone dressed up and had alot of fun! We grilled out, played Twister, and just had a blast playing with Matthew! He loved being the center of attention and thought everyone looked so funny with their crazy hair, hats and glasses! We are so proud of our little Matthew, he is just a blessing to our entire family! I have said it before, I would not change one thing about my extra special little man! I just Love him to Pieces!

Almost Two!

I can't believe my little Matthew is almost 2 years old! He has come so far in his lifetime! He is the strongest person I have ever known, he is so smart and loving! I know I wouldn't be the person I am today without him in my life! Matthew is the happiest most loving child I have ever known! I honestly can say that I would never change one thing about him! He is Perfect! Matthew can make me smile when I am sad, he can make me laugh when I am in a bad mood, he lifts me up just with his little face! He is my sunshine! I have read alot of books written by parents of children with Down Syndrome and alot of them have said that they contemplated not taking their baby home, or terminating the pregnancy. Honestly I can say that those thoughts never crossed my mind, the only thing that I was worried about when I found out that Matthew had DS is, will he be ok? I was more worried about his health, and the potential health issues that come with DS than the actual behavior, and MR part. I knew in my heart and soul that with the Lords help we would be just fine! And ya know what, we are more than just fine! We are amazing! I am the proudest mother in the world, I have three gorgeous children that are my life and a great supportive husband! Brian has also never thought for a second that we were cheated by having a child with DS, honestly we both feel blessed that we were choosen to have a Special needs child! It takes a really strong person to watch your child go through the pain that we have, this job is not for the weak! My heart and prayers go out to ALL of the parents with children with disabilities, its not an easy job! But it has more rewards than anything else in this lifetime! No matter how bad things seem today it will get better, tomorrow is another day! Take things one day at a time, focus on the here and now. I am always here to talk to anyone that would like to chat or vent!

My name is Matthew, I am almost two years old. I have a big brother named Damian (Bubba) and a little sister named Ashlyn (Sissy). I especially love to give sissy kisses and mu bubba does funny things to make me laugh all the time. I also have two parents that love me unconditionally the way I am. I love chicken and scrambled eggs. Blue's Clue's is my favorite show, when it comes on nothing else matters :-)
I am a very happy person that loves to laugh and just have fun, I am very small for my age barely 19 lbs but I make up for my size with a huge personality! Oh and I also happen to have Down Syndrome, which makes me extra special! Down Syndrome does not define who I am or the person I am going to become, it is just another part of me that makes me unique...after all, none of us are exactly the same. =)
